Notes:

Updated information. I have more suggestions but will not overload you. I do not know what other factors (medications in particular), so please read to see if there are possible interactions.

I have always gained good results by using a multiple approach factor, e.g. things work better when done in a spectrum of attack. I also tend to "cycle" through my supplements (except for Vitamin C, E and general multiple vitamin/mineral). Cycling would be the idea that I rotate the supplements meaning I may take a group on day 1 then skip day 2 etc.

Keep in mind that these are solid ideas but also generalized ideas, some trial and error is likely necessary.

Tocotrienols:

Tocotrienols are a form of Vitamin E and research indicates they are powerful in supporting cardiovascular health. Since they are antioxidants, they will target inflammation (arthritis). BTW, most diseases can be categorized as inflammatory. Inflammation is damaging to the body as you know and those pathways can be toned down with antioxidants.

Vitamin E (Unique E):

Grace vitamin E is one of the most overlooked antioxidant as mentioned before.

Tocotrienols and Vitamin E from AC Grace which IMO is an excellent company. You can speak to the owner who is very knowledgeable and friendly. I had some good conversations with him.

He recommends taking the 2 products apart from each other since they may compete in absorption.

Pterostilbene:

Pterostilbene ("Tero Stilbene") is a close relative to resveratrol. As a side note, resveratrol did not live up to its reputation (after several product attempts). It is in the polyphenol class of anthocyanins which are found in reds, blues and purples. Blueberries contain high amounts of this.  These are powerful polyphenols for the cardiovascular system. Other products that contain this are bilberry, hibiscus, pomegranate, hawthorn berries

Grape seed extract is loaded with these polyphenols as well. One of my go to supplements.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is perhaps one of the very best antioxidants and it has a full range of activity. I use Quali C which is pharmaceutical which means it does not contain any preservatives or additives. This has been a trusted brand for quite some time.

Vitamin B6

The Vitamin B family are powerful co-factors in cellular metabolism as are other nutrients such as minerals, healthy fats and proteins. All are important but I suspect that Vitamin B6 may be lacking. In terms of supplementing with B vitamins, it is best to get the full spectrum rather than individual ones, the idea is that high doses of a specific B will push down the other Bs.

Garlic, Ginger and Cayenne:

These tend to be cardiovascular friendly.

Pro Resolving Mediators:

This is a newer version of Omega 3 (fish oil) that has some interesting reports. These are known to target inflammatory processes including cardiovascular. I buy from LEF (Life Extension Foundation) which is a trusted source.

..........//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////..................

I have listed some general ideas and trying to keep it simple. I cannot offer medical advice, so this should be considered educational.

Vitamin K2

There seems to be solid evidence that it supports a number of metabolic factors including the vascular system. More recent articles suggest that it is involved in the immune response as well. Seems to have some synergistic effects with Vitamin D.

I use Life Extension Super K which has 2 active forms, MK4 and MK7. Life Extension is a good company and no price gouging.

Selenium

Selenium is another multi-dimensional trace mineral. It is used by the immune response and used up in higher amounts during active infections, It also participates in liver detoxification. It is well known in medical articles to support the cardiovascular system. I use the version of selenomethione which is common.

CoQ10

I use Doctors Best and I think there is strong validity for it. Aging seems to have a factor in it, meaning levels in the younger seem adequate but levels seem to drop off during aging. I like the Doctor's Best.

Magnesium

We discussed that but I would emphasize that it comes in different forms, and it seems that different people respond differently to the various forms, Glycinate is certainly good form and the Doctor's Best your sister recommended also contains magnesium lysinate. The Ultra Mag product has glycinate and a few other forms. One of those is mag taurate which is magnesium bound to taurine. Taurine comes up in various articles as being cardio friendly.

Multi Vitamin/Mineral

Source Naturals Life Force is a good to very good multi vitamin and mineral. B vitamins are critical nutrients that help the cells to metabolize various pathways. For instance, Vitamin B6 is needed for cardio pathways and many other pathways. This product also contains various other nutrients that are supportive. Source Naturals has always been a trusted brand.

Polyphenols

Polyphenol research has been a big help for me. There are thousands of research articles on their benefits. In the polyphenol world, there are thousands of varieties and they are found in plants, some plants have more value than others. For instance, dark chocolate is a polyphenol rich food that has many cardiovascular benefits and also targets other pathways.

I buy bulk from trusted sources such as Banyan Botanicals, Frontier and others. I spend $100+ on these which will last for 1 year. I mix several together then freeze the unused portion. I always mix these in organic chicken broth which really magnifies their effects. Broth is very rich in glycine and proline which keep cells healthy.

Here is a profile of my mix: Turmeric, Ginger, Ceylon Cinnamon, Paprika or Cayenne, Moringa, raw Cacao (Navitas), Ashwagandha and others.

Plants containing reds, blues and purple are rich in a class of polyphenols called anthocyanins and proanthocyanins which target cardiovascular. I use Tazo Passion tea or bilberry, pterostilbene is an interesting one. And there are others.

Lecithin (Sunflower not Soy)

Sunflower Lecithin (from NOW) is a good product for cellular health and quite affordable. Lecithin contains beneficial nutrients that keep the vascular system healthy and the cells as well.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E as natural (not synthetic) is another valuable nutrient for cardiovascular health. It protects the cell membranes from oxidative stress and obviously serves as a potent antioxidant. Make sure it is D form (natural) and not the synthetic form which is DL.

I would suggest Grace E (Unique E), it is the best Vitamin E IMO. I knew 2 people with congestive heart failure who used this is had very good results. One of those combined Grace E with UltraMag.

I will stop here, otherwise, it will turn into a book :) If you want, I can walk you through various detoxification protocols that I have tried. Of course, the above should aid in detoxification and repair.

Good talking with you, if you have questions, feel free to text me.

Paneth Cells - guardians of the intestinal tract

Click for the AI slideshow: https://sl.bing.net/hBioK3sTdDw From Google Gemini: Paneth Cells: The Guardians of the Gut Paneth cells are specialized epithelial cells found at the base of the intestinal crypts (small invaginations in the intestinal lining). They play a crucial role in maintaining the gut's health by acting as a first line of defense against harmful microorganisms. Key Functions: Antimicrobial Defense: Paneth cells produce and secrete a variety of antimicrobial peptides and proteins, such as lysozyme, defensins, and phospholipase A2. These substances help to kill bacteria, fungi, and other pathogens that may invade the intestinal tract. Regeneration of Intestinal Epithelium: Paneth cells contribute to the maintenance and regeneration of the intestinal lining by supporting the stem cells located nearby. Immune Regulation: These cells participate in regulating the immune response within the gut, helping to balance the body's reaction to both beneficial and ha...

Hi Holly's Daughter

Here are some general notes of the education I had in the Gut Environment. Keep in mind that this is educational and not a directive to treatment or diagnosis.  As a side note, I spent an inordinate amount of time in this pursuit based on my own situation. I went to countless doctors and specialists to "resolve" my issues with little to no help. I personally have done these therapies countless times. I also hosted a forum on protozoa parasites and dives into antibiotic resistance.  I did many stool samples (microbiology) to detect what bug I had contracted and did many therapies including antibiotics, probiotics and the like. Here is what I know. The Gastrointestinal Tract: The GI system is rather a complex organism that has many features that Western Medicine is just acknowledging at this point. The GI tract houses 70% of the immune response and these immune responses can react to both pathogens that enter the gut but also systemic infections (example a viral infection). In ...
