Krebs and M.E.

A study that links pyruvate dehydrogenase problems in M.E. Pyruvate dehydrogenase is part of the Krebs cycle and when it is low then energy output suffers.

The Krebs cycle is a complex study on the production of energy, when the Krebs cycle output is low then the energy production slows. Imagine running a factory that requires adequate energy to produce products, but what if the energy is not adequate, then production slows or ceases. People who suffer with M.E. suffer from low energy (low Krebs) and as a result, the functions of the body suffer including neurological, immune, detoxification, endocrine and a whole host of other issues.

The Krebs Cycle is dependent on raw nutrients to do its thing, if the raw materials are not there then the cycle does not function or becomes aberrant. This article looks at the complex nature of amino acids in the formation of pyruvate dehydrogenase. Vitamin co-factors and minerals are necessary for amino acid formation.

You can buy most of this at Kroger's, I listed the pictures below. The idea is that you are targeting the gut, the microbiome to be exact. I am not going to list out all the studies but they have discovered that the right bacteria in the gut can change a lot of things including metabolic, neurological, immune responses, weight gain and many other things.  Increasing the good bacteria such as bifidobacteria etc. can also suppress the bad bacteria which have been linked to numerous problems.  There are products that you can buy on Amazon and these will also support the microbiome by giving the nutrients they need.  Kroger's has the ones in the pictures below, you will find the Cleveland Kraut in the refrigerated section and so is the Kefir. Both of these are live foods meaning they contain the good bacteria.
